Why should I use an agency?
The process of finding a qualified childcare provider is
intensive, detail-oriented and time consuming. An
independent search often requires you to network with
friends, neighbors and co-workers, design and post
advertisements, screen numerous calls and invite people into
your home without being sure of their background or
intentions.
We understand that your time is valuable. As a client of
k grace childcare, you would not only have instant access to
a large number of qualified and professional childcare
providers, but you would benefit from a search tailored to
meet the needs of your family.
We know that life as a parent is not always organized or
predictable. Our service can give you peace of mind
knowing that all your childcare needs can be met with one
phone call.
How is k grace different?
Professionalism, the ability to listen and respond and
a commitment to extensive screening procedures are the
defining characteristics of k grace childcare.
We are proud to have built our service solely on personal
referrals and a great record of successful placements.
As opposed to other agencies, k grace chooses to focus on
helping parents who do not need full-time care. A large
majority or our clients use between 8 and 20 hours per week
and may or may not have a set schedule.
How are your childcare providers screened?
At k grace childcare we take extra measures to ensure that
our screening is thorough and unsurpassed.
Each applicant is first required to complete an extensive
online application. From the information
provided concerning childcare knowledge and experience, the
qualified candidates are granted an interview. The first interview is conducted in a group setting and
averages 1.5 hours. If the applicant meets the
agency's expectations, an individual interview is arranged. Following the individual interview, if the candidate is
considered for an independent contractor position, they must
first pass a child development exam.
The application process is concluded with three childcare
reference checks, social security verification and a
national background check. To further ensure
the highest level of quality, childcare providers must agree
to a detailed protocol agreement which outlines all agency
expectations. Mandatory training sessions are held twice
yearly.
What experience do the providers have?
First and foremost, they have childcare experience.
From there, it can vary from extensive babysitting to having
been a nanny. The childcare providers often have teaching
backgrounds or have worked in day care centers or
preschools. Most of our candidates are currently
attending college or have previous college experience and a
large number apply with related college degrees.
How much are the childcare
providers paid?
The minimum hourly payment is $11 per hour for one child. The hourly
rate increases depending on the number of children and
gratuity is customary. Full-time nannies generally are paid
between $450 and $550 per week depending on the number of
hours, experience, additional requirements and number of
children.
What happens when a client is not
happy with a sitter?
Although we have had very little experience with clients
who are not happy with the placement, we would work to
replace the sitter as soon as possible.
Is it possible for clients to meet a potential sitter prior to the first
day of care?
We understand that leaving your child in the care of
someone else, regardless of qualifications, can be
difficult. Making our clients comfortable is of highest
priority. Although it is not common for clients to meet a
babysitter prior to the placement, if it is requested, every
effort will be made to accommodate a meeting. We do suggest
setting an early start time for each new sitter. For
extenuating circumstances and for long-term requests,
including nanny placements, we do suggest having a formal
interview and then a “play date” prior to the start date.
How much notice is necessary for
babysitting requests?
We work best with more than three business days, however
we are generally able to help in an emergency.
What is the first step for parents to take?
The first step for a prospective client would be to fill
out an
application on our
Website. Once the application has
been submitted, you will receive an e-mail with our brochure
attached detailing the agency fees and other important
information. A k grace representative will call to
discuss your needs and forms will be sent to complete the
application process. Once the forms are returned, you
are eligible for placements.
How do I pay the fees?
All agency fees are charged via credit card. Charges will
not begin until the agency agreement and accompanying
documents are signed and returned.
