Welcome to k grace childcare. My name is Kayme Pumphrey. I am the president and founder of k grace and, when you choose to use the services we provide, I will soon become a close acquaintance of you and your family.

Children have always been a huge part of my life. As the oldest of nine siblings, I began taking care of little ones at a young age and started formally babysitting at the age of ten. As I got older, my work in daycare centers, preschools, primary classrooms and centers for children with special needs provided me invaluable, practical experience. Through college, I gained an extensive background in education and child development.

In 2000, I moved to Chicago with my husband, Bryan, and immediately interviewed with several nanny agencies. For over three years, I nannied and babysat several nights during the week and every weekend through word of mouth referrals. My experience with other agencies helped me form ideas about how childcare placement services could be improved and babysitting needs be met, but k grace began only after I found myself without enough hours in the week to schedule any more babysitting. Unable to leave my clients without sitters, I began referring my friends and sorority sisters to the families. After talking with my employers, other nannies, and my own family and friends, I decided I would work to provide Chicago parents and children a better alternative for finding high quality in-home childcare than what was currently available. I wanted to start a service that would provide families with high-end customer service, quality childcare, and most importantly, sitters who had been properly screened.

In 2002, my vision became a reality. I created a babysitting service that would effectively and professionally assist families with one of the most important decisions they have to make as parents - finding a qualified and loving provider to care for their children. I wanted to make sure that parents had an alternative to full-time care while still providing a solution for hectic schedules. Working with clients to fulfill their desire to find loving, caring, experienced individuals to assist with their children quickly became my passion.

My clients were happy and encouraged me to expand my business. K grace quickly spread from one client to another and continued to grow as referrals would come from each successful placement. Today, we have had the pleasure of working with more than 350 families. Although I am proud of the number of clients we have had the opportunity to assist, I am most proud of our level of professionalism, constant attention to detail, and personal touch that make k grace first class.

It has been my pleasure introducing you to k grace childcare. I look forward to speaking with you and your family soon.

 Sincerely,

Kayme Pumphrey
